3D Environment Artist
My Story

I am a recent Computer Games graduate. During my time on the course, I explored the many roles within the game development industry. My favourite aspects were definitely 3D modelling and programming using Unreal Engine's blueprint system. As I improved my use of Blender from almost no knowledge to being able to make assets from the start to the end of a workflow, I started leaning towards 3D art as I grew to understand it.

The first time I realised my gravitation toward environment art was during the creation of my first diorama for a university assignment. I found the process of progressively filling a scene with objects extremely satisfying. This project also provoked me to learn about how to use various techniques such as strip textures, decals and emissive textures.

The next environment I created was in the process of making the practical project for my final year of university. While the focus of the project was comparing types of multiplayer, I couldn't help losing myself in trying to make an aesthetically pleasing environment. This environment utilised many moving assets to attempt to create a feeling of it being a living space.

This snowy environment was submitted for a competition based on the theme: "Stranded". It was created to challenge my ability to make organic assets, especially animals. The inclusion of weather made the environment's creation much more interesting as it made me think about things only visible in snow like footprints and what would remain visible under a thick layer of snow.
